Post What does this mean and what should I be doing?

Okay, so basically I have been reading some of Rabbi Avigdor Millers books. They are terrific and very insightful and he writes a lot about marriage. I came across a point that I would like to discuss. I will quote: The book is called career of happiness:
"A Beth Jacob girl should be wed soon after or before graduation. Everyday after she leaves the Beth Jacob marks another step away from idealism, the street, the office and the secular school have an unfailing effect which increases from day to day."
?????????????? and so, I ask you to explain:

Stop reading books that freak you out.... and if you do... then don't take every word so literally...

Trying so hard, I don't think you can say that "you shouldn't take (what Rabbi Avigdor Miller) says so literally". Of course what he is saying is true. Miriam, it's not to make you nervous though. As long as you are doing your Hishtadlus and not unnecessarily not dating, then you are fine. He is just addressing the issue that there are many girls who don't begin dating right until they're past 20.

Esther- I didn't mean any disrespect to R'Avigdor Miller or that his Torah shouldn't be taken seriously. But rather, that she shouldn't take it too heart and let it drive her crazy, but rather that she should continue to focus on what she needs to do and don't let it upset her or feel bad about her situation.

Yes, he is saying that girls shouldn't say that they will begin dating when their done college or after this or that. Of course if you haven't found the right one then it's not your time but he's saying that it is a real concern and that girls should make every effort to marry quickly and not push it off and think that they will be better off marrying later. To sum it up soon rather than later.

Hey I just came across this from an earlier thread. It seems like R' Avigdor Miller agrees with your point thinking by girl!
