Post Next Time???

On the way home from the date, the guy tried playing a certain song for me. The CD wasn't really working well so he said "Oh well, I'll have to play it for you next time!" What's that supposed to mean "next time"???

Aren't the guys not supposed to say that - that's what the shadchan's for! If a guy doesn't say "see you next time", does that mean a "no"?

I really agree. I had a similar situation recently. I was going out with a guy, and by the second date I knew he was not for me. At the end of the date he dropped me off at my house and said something along the lines of "see you again.." It made me really uncomfortable, especially since I knew that that would not be the case, and I would be saying no. I think that guys should NOT hint at another date until way along the road, when it's serious, and pretty obvious that she also wants to go out again.

Sometimes it's just a figure of speech, as in 'see you later' (which some ppl use instead of G'bye). Or it could be that he would like to go out again, and wants you to know that... maybe 'cause he's hoping it will make a difference to you to know that...
Cut him some slack. As long as he's not actually putting you on the spot too early and asking you for an answer to an actual question...
I always ignore these little 'figures of speech' and comments anyway until I know for sure that he wants to go out again. Guys have been known to make these little comments, and then do an about face... Although generally if he's peppering his speech with 'we'll have to do that sometime' and 'maybe next time' etc.. he is usually (maybe unconsciously) trying to send a subtle message...

Agreeing with tryingsohard, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Once a guy said something like, "I'll make that up to you next time," or something like that, and then he ended up saying no. There's this urge to over-analyze especially when you like the guy, but don't read into things too much! It'll just make you crazy.

yes, exactly that thinkingbygirl..they don't think so much into their speech I feel like they talk to their guy friends that way so sometimes it comes out that why when their talking to us too. I do agree that it can get kind of awkward especially in the cases that you already know that you never want to see him again. Had some of those before..DOA..lol
